Hi all! TIme for a delurk!

I'm Onezumi. I'm the artist and creator behind the Onezumi.com Webcomic. If you have gone to any anime con in the area, you probably know us. We do comics and host free tutorials for new artists. We also hold incentive contests for people to start thinking creatively. For example, we're giving away a custom pink iPod shuffle right now to one of our readers. Last contest was a fanart contest for a 30 gig external art storage drive.

What does this have to do with anything? I'm an old RUJCA member. I graduated from RU a bit ago, went on to work for Disney, and then formed my own art company. When I was at RU, I sadly didn't have much time to hang out. I was wondering if you still have a lot of fan artists in the club? I might be able to swing down there one day and demo some digital art stuff for you guys, or maybe set up some kind of fun event. I may be starting some kind of anime, art, and gaming event on campus soon, so that could be cool. I'm not looking to make money from any of this - I'd be willing to do it if people are willing to hang out and learn about the industry and how you can get in.

Just want to say...don't listen to anything that jca_treasurer guy says. He's an imposter, a scam, a wannabe, a POSER.

I'm the real deal.

Half-ass attempt at some club unity, take two.
Well, after the rousing success of the FF.net C2, I figure that there should be something else. So, I started up a web clique. It can be found at touitsu.chofi.net. Please join.

(Cross posted to the message boards. But of course.)

Fanfiction.net C2 account.
Fanfiction.net has recently started an option where groups of authors can band together and form a community. From talking to some of the regulars, I know that there's a good number of us already at FF.net. So, the next logical step is to get all of us together. (Which means more feedback for everyone, and isn't that nice?)

The URL of the C2 is:

Oh, and should any of the officers like to moderate the community, then come and talk to me, and I'll relinquish it ASAP.

(Cross-posted to the forums. Or at least it will be once Ezboard stops being an ass.)

Yo, now that LJ isn't moving at snail like speeds, I'll give you guys a brief introduction on myself.

My name is Henry Kim, and I'm a 4th year at Rutgers along with Ginny. Unlike Ginny however, I will not be graduating this year. The main reason being is that I'm a namakemono (lazy person), but there are other reasons too. My major (I think) is East Asian Language Studies with Japanese being my area of interest. Dunno what I'm going to do after college, but the JET program looks nice (if I can get in...). On an unrelated note, I'm the oldest and the only one aside from Ginny who can legally drink (not that that stops anyone).

Enough of the boring stuff, on to the more boring stuff. I'm a pretty boring guy. Seriously, I am. I like sports (particulary baseball, football, soccer, golf and tennis), both playing and observing them, but I haven't been in decent shape since HS (college makes you lazy) so I dunno if I can realistically compete in any of said sports at the moment. Golf is something I play purely for casual reasons...and it shows because I'm pretty bad at it. (It's fun though, and a lot harder than it looks...). Tennis is something I want to seriously learn, but never had the time to...maybe I will find the time to. I love baseball. The Yankees suck.

I also like to sleep, watch movies (any kind), read books (not as much as before though mainly because of time constraints) and eat. Yea, I'm pretty boring.

Anime has a special place for me in my heart, probably something that most of you didn't get into anime for...but whatever. Been watching it longer than any of the other officers, seen my fair share of stuff. I like just about everything. Some favorites of mine over the years have been Escaflowne, Ah! Megami-Sama, Kino no Tabi, Bebop, Kimagure Orange Road, Slayers, Azumanga Daioh, Rurouni Kenshin (only the first OVA), Hoshi no Koe, You're Under Arrest, amongst many other things which I can no longer remember.

Manga is fun to read too. Yotsubato!, Mahou Sensei Negima, Naruto, Suikoden III, XXXHolic are my current favs, Gunsmith Cats if my favorite.

Surprise, surprise, I like to game too. I play fighting games somewhat seriously, like GGXX #Reload, CvS 2, 3rd Strike. If anyone wants to play me and thinks they can beat me in said games, I welcome the challenge (but I doubt you'll beat me). I like a lot of other games too, but I don't feel like listing them...uh, I like Phantom Brave and stuff.

That's it for me. The other officers are more interesting than I am.

The leader has arrived...
Believe it or not, the JCA does comprise of officers aside from Ginny, and I'm the leader of that bunch, Henry. I'll get (force) the other officers to post here on a some-what regular schedule too, so it won't just be me and Ginny talkin'.

Normally, I guess I would introduce myself and stuff, but LJ is being really slow right now, kind of annoying me. So I'll just give you guys a list of the officers for the '04-'05 school year.

President - Henry Kim (that is me if you haven't figured out by now)
Vice-President - Jeff Hardy
Treasurer - Virginia...something, I actually never call her by her last name, so I dunno. Just call her Ginny.
Secretary - Doormat...err...Edwin Hart
PR - Ethan Fox

Yea, those are the guys who are leading the JCA right now. Say hi to them or something at meetings.

Community info stuff.
I just added a whole slew of stuff to the community interests, Considering that there were zero before, I don't think it's too bad =P But what would you guys like me to add? I was just picking stuff off the top of my head! And obviously I don't want this to be a list of "Ginny's favorite fandom stuff".

Suggestions, anyone? I'll add them as soon as I can!

The first post - info and rules.
All right. Time to get this ball rolling!

This community is dedicated to Rutgers University Japanese Cultural Association. To make a long story short, we're the Rutgers Anime Club, but we do other things besides just watch anime - including, but not limited to watching Japanese live action movies and shows, cultural discussions, games, social nights, raffles, so on and so forth. All members, alumni, or anyone who holds an interest in the club are welcome to join and participate in the community.

I am the humble treasurer for the 2004-2005 school year, and the moderator of this community. So anyway, this is going to sound like old hat, I'm sure, but I just wanted to lay down a couple community rules. Bare with me, they're not that hard!

1. Absolutely NO flaming or trolling. This is the most important rule to any community. Polite and civil discussion is of course welcome, and encouraged, but I reserve the right to delete any posts and ban any members who choose to be rude, or pick fights with other members.

2. Please stay on topic! This is for discussion, chat, introductions, question, etc pertaining to the club. Discussion about anime and other aspects of Japanese culture, or Japanese related classes at Rutgers are also okay. But please do not post about how much you loath Tillett Dining hall, no matter how bad the food gets ^_~

3. If you're posting a large image, please use an LJ-cut. To use one, type < lj-cut > before the image and < /lj-cut > after the image, removing the spaces.

Any problems, please don't hesitate to drop me a line, ginnyseta.

These rules will be added to the profile of the community, and might have a few odds and ends added to them if need be. Coming soon - a list of the current officers, info on our first meeting, and other fun stuff! Feel free to start posting people!
